Meet the physicians at Renal Services of Toledo


  • Dr. Afolabi

    Dr. Afolabi

    Dr. Afolabi graduated from OAU medical School, Nigeria in November 1988. After completing a rotating internship in 1989, he joined the Nigeria Institute for Medical Research as a research fellow involved in malaria research work. He relocated to the United States and did his residency at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center Internal Medicine program at Harlem Hospital from July 1, 1995 to June 30, 1998. His fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension was at SUNY Stonybrook from July 1998 to June 2000.

    Dr. Afolabi joined Renal Services of Toledo January 2001. Dr. Afolabi’s interests include improving quality of life of dialysis patients, critical care nephrology, kidney transplant as well as kidney stone disease. He serves on several committees at multiple hospitals in northwest Ohio and served as the chief of staff at Bay Park hospital Oregon, Ohio between 2008 and 2010.

    Dr. Afolabi is Board Certified and re-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

    In his spare time Dr. Afolabi enjoys spending time with his family as well as tennis, soccer, and golf.

  • Dr. Da-Rocha

    Dr. Da-Rocha

    Dr. Da Rocha began his preliminary medical studies in the United Kingdom and completed his medical training at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, in 1998. After his medical training, Dr. Da Rocha participated in a clinical research project that resulted in a publication on the management of breast cancer.

    Dr. Da Rocha completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center at Harlem Hospital, in 2009. His keen interest in nephrology led to a fellowship at the Columbia University Medical Center where he was an active member on the committees for dialysis improvement and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

    Dr. Da Rocha is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation. He has presented several clinical abstracts at various national conferences and his interest in clinical research resulted in two award – winning presentations at Harlem Hospital. Dr. Da Rocha is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  Never one to slow down, he has further interests in the management of diabetic kidney disease and continuous kidney replacement therapies.

    He is a sports enthusiast, enjoys reading biographies, and loves to travel with his family.

  • Dr. Imam

    Dr. Imam

    Dr.Imam was born in Karachi, Pakistan.  He graduated from Dow Medical College – University of Karachi in 2001.  After completing an Internship as the House Officer in General Medicine and General Surgery at Civil Hospital, Karachi, he then went on to be the Emergency Medical Officer in the ER at Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Imam relocated to the United States to pursue higher education. Dr. Imam completed residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH where he was Chief Resident.  During his time at Good Samaritan he received the Best Research Resident Award.   He then continued to Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC where he completed his Nephrology Fellowship.  Dr. Imam joined Renal Services of Toledo in August 2014.

    Dr. Imam’s interest includes the management of hypertension, chronic kidney disease, glomerular disease, electrolyte disorder and hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients.  

    Dr. Imam is a member of American Society of Nephrology.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  Dr. Imam enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 sons as well as following cricket and basketball.

  • Dr. Stockard

    Dr. Stockard

    Dr. Stockard graduated from The Medical College of Ohio in 1973 where he continued with his Residency and Nephrology Fellowship.  He has been in private practice for the past 32 years.  Dr. Stockard is the Immediate Past Chief of Staff with St. Anne Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.  He is a member of The Academy of Medicine, OSMA as well as an OSMA Delegate.  Dr. Stockard is also the past Chairman Professional Advisory Board with the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.  He is an active member with the Midwest Medical Mission.  He travels twice a year in February and October to help the underserved people of the Dominican Republic.  Dr. Stockard’s interests include watching baseball and football and traveling with his wife.
